Busan Declaration on World Heritage
OurWorldHeritage welcomes the Busan Declaration on World Heritage presented at the opening plenary session of the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee in Busan, Republic of Korea, on July 20, 2026. Following consultations with States Parties and international experts, the host country made a proposal to add a sixth “C” for “Collaboration” to the World Heritage Strategic Objectives that guide all countries in the implementation of the World Heritage Convention. The first five “Cs” stand for Credibility, Conservation, Capacity-building, Communication, and Communities. Collaboration is closely aligned to the purpose of the OurWorldHeritage Foundation, namely to provide a community platform for sharing stories, events, and ideas that connect local heritage with global conversations.
Congratulations to the Republic of Korea for preparing the Busan Declaration on World Heritage.
