The 4th edition of the International Seminar on Heritage Interpretation for Future Generations is centered on Conflicting Discourses in Interpreting Contested Heritage: The Role of Diverse Communities in Fostering Dialogue. The seminar aims to create a platform for inclusive and constructive dialogue on the interpretation of contested heritage sites associated with modernization, colonization, and war. These sites often give rise to dissonant or conflicting historical narratives and collective memories. By bringing together scholars, civil society actors, and youth, the seminar aims to highlight underrepresented voices and promote more balanced, multi-perspective approaches to heritage interpretation. This year’s seminar, in particular, focuses on the roles of various communities in fostering dialogue for peacebuilding and reconciliation. You can attend the event in person or online upon registration.
